What is behind introduction of Belarusian peacekeepers in Donbas

I was writing quite a lot and a long ago about the fact that Belarus would try to send its peacekeepers to Donbas.

In 2015, I was explaining the Lukashenko’s logic. It is not so much important for him to resolve the issue, but to protect his own interests. The status of the country, that sends the peacekeepers to Donbass, is little, but still one more guarantee from the excessive activity of the Kremlin on “climate change in Belarus” – no one “will cover up for” Lukashenko himself, but they can protect the country participating in peacekeeping missions (at least through diplomatic channels).
