The Minsk platform for negotiations is very important for Belarus in its attempt to establish closer contacts with the EU countries, the United States and truth be told – it is a certain hope for guaranteeing security for Belarus from Russian active interference in its affairs. For Minsk, these are fragile, but at least some guarantees of security, therefore, it is quite logical that any attempts to “take away” the format of the meetings on the settlement of the crisis from the capital of Belarus will meet a sharp and negative reaction.
