Yuriy Romanenko’s answer to a question from “Ukrinform

82 percent of all money earned around the world in 2017, went to the richest people. This is certified by the study of Oxfam – the international confederation of charitable organizations focused on the alleviation of global poverty. 3,7 billion people, who make up the poorest part of the world population, did not receive anything from global profits. However, from 2016 to 2017, the number of billionaires has unprecedently increased. According to Oxfam data, the new billionaire appeared approximately every two days. In total, there are 2043 people in the world, who are considered to be billionaires. According to Winnie Byanyima, Executive Director of Oxfam, “The boom of billionaires does not speak about the flourishing of the economy, but about the collapse of the economic order.” Hence, there is a question: Is it appropriate and right to believe that the growth of billionaires and the imbalance (gap) between rich and poor can be the result of a new global economic crisis in the world?
