THE LAST DAYS OF PRIVILEGED CUSTOMS CLEARANCE: WHEN OWNERS OF EURO PLATES WILL BE FINED

Now are the last days of privileged customs clearance of cars with euro plates. The full rate will be applied since February 23. There are several options of what can be done after the end of preferential treatment.

The first option is to extend the grace period. It is known that such draft law is in the Verkhovna Rada.

The second option – two important rules would come into effect. They both would pursue the owners of euro plates. The first rule which is already in force – changes to the law on the National Police regarding the grounds of stopping the vehicle by the police. The second rule comes into force at the end of May – a change in the Code of Administrative Procedure, which adds another administrative offense, namely the use of customs-cleared cars.

In any case, around one hundred thousand cars will remain uncustomed, they will be just hidden somewhere or used for parts. A small part of them will be taken out of the country, but the number of cars that created this movement will not exist anymore.
