There was information that the President of Ukraine signed the law on criminal offence adopted by the Parliament on 22.11.2018.

This law was awaited at least since 2012! A criminal offence is an act (act or omission to act) that is subject to a penalty of not more than three thousand non-taxable minimum incomes of citizens or other punishment not connected with deprivation of liberty.

A simplified procedure for the investigation of misconduct is introduced – a preliminary investigation.

The classification of crimes will also change – minor offence, grave offence and gravest crime.

Another highlight is the criminalization of article 130 of the Code of Ukraine on Administrative Offenses – driving under the influence (this will be a new article of the Criminal code 286-1: driving while under the influence of alcohol, narcotic or other intoxicant or under the influence of drugs that reduce concentration and reaction time).
