A week ago a wave of new statements about the future pension reform swept over the country. But if we look deeper – is it actually a reform?
As a first step, I suggest to forbid all officials to use the word reform vainly. Almost every step, no matter what it changes, they began to call reform distorting the concept of reformation in fact.
There were several pension reforms already. The loudest was the Tigipko’s reform. However, they all were, as a rule, not for creation conditions for a high quality of life for citizens after they reached retirement age, but for today’s “band-aid approach” of the Pension Fund. This is because the commitments given by the politicians to the electorate grow, and money for this is less.
