The new Silk Road of China should be convenient for Ukraine

The People’s Republic of China has agreed on new rail routes through the territory of Ukraine. The very fact that Ukraine takes part in the transportation of goods between Europe and China is a very important achievement. However, the wording “China has agreed on new routes” is not very correct. For China, it is important to get the goods, and, in my opinion, the Chinese are not very interested in how it happens – what is the most important – it must be effective, fast and cheap.

I think the decision of China is motivated by the need to test the possibility of transporting goods in the country where a war is going on. In Europe and Asia there is an opinion that the transportation of goods through Ukraine is impossible, as long as there is a conflict in Donbas.
