We offer to your attention an exclusive article by the military expert of the Ukrainian Institute of the future Glen Grant, which was published in the online newspaper censor.net (Цензор.нет).

The most difficult task for Ukraine is to overcome political barriers by creating a system that will be capable to provide means of armed struggle when it would be necessary, and this will also fit into the concept of a society that expects to link its future with NATO and the West; without hiding behind organizations created during its Soviet past. However, among other things, the reserve forces must be affordable for the country, since the funds for the maintenance of a large reserve can end long before it might be used. The General Headquarters has developed a concept that will require serious support of the society, but it has not been discussed previously within the society. This is not the best way to succeed in such a politically engaged issue like this.
