WHY “NAFTOGAZ” HAS RAISED THE PRICE FOR BUSINESSES

Naftogaz of Ukraine has published gas prices for industrial consumers that will take effect on October 1, 2018. Comparing with September the price has grown on 9.4 -9.7%. There is nothing surprising in that fact that prices were raised. Relatively speaking, the price of gas for non-domestic consumers in Ukraine is the market price. We say “relatively” because pricing is based on the price named by the European gas hub.

At the same time, gas is a commodity that, to some extent, is tied to seasonal demand, and therefore to price fluctuations. In the context of the expected growth of consumption during the winter period, its price is growing on the European energy markets.
