In the early hours of January 14, more than 500 people gathered at the bus station in San Pedro Sula, in the North of Honduras. These people will form the “core” of the first in 2019 caravan of migrants that will go to the North in search of a better life, accumulating the downtrodden from neighboring countries.
Such, at first glance, a minor event in the near future may cause a real humanitarian catastrophe, because the socio-economic situation in the Central American region is deteriorating against the backdrop of the vigorous activity of gangs associated with drug trafficking.
